Accomplishments

We at the Botswana National Sports Council have made recognisable achievements and this is a quantum leap in the right direction.

Several Policies have in the recent past been achieved with the view that they would assist and guide the Council in the quest for excellence in sports development. The Policies include and are not limited to:

• Affiliates Performance Incentive Scheme
• Sports Leave Policy
• Hosting Policy
• Code of Conduct

All the Policies are milestones of the recently revised and adopted BNSC Sports Vision 2012 Strategy document.

Several more are available in the website under guiding documents and more are being proposed for approval.

Of importance was the acquisition of courts sport outdoor facilities which would be used for sports development in Lobatse, Gaborone, and Selibe Phikwe. It is envisaged that the facilities would be used for multi-sports such as volleyball, netball, basketball and tennis.

The BNSC has successfully completed the revised BNSC handbook.

The resuscitation and ultimate launch of the BNSC website is the highlight of achievements which would be used to disseminate information.

The BNSC found it appropriate to conduct Leadership and Management programmes and Team Building and Conflict Resolution courses for Affiliates. These have been successfully concluded.

The Vision 2012 Strategy alignment workshops by Affiliates was also a step in the right direction.
