Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development, Tumiso Rakgare has commended Botswana Sport Hall of Fame Class of 2020 recipients for serving sport diligently.
Speaking at the seventh edition of Botswana Sport Hall of Fame induction ceremony recently, Rakgare said Eva Mwila, Gaelebale Kgosiemang, Kitso Kemoen and Phineas Maweni had been an embodiment of many of values and had led by example throughout the years.
He said a lot of people had drawn a lot of inspiration from their resilience, great acts of kindness and sheer love for sport.
“Congratulations on achieving this great feat and welcome to the elite club of Botswana sport. You have given our athletes the opportunity to reach for greatness and yet others the chance to become better persons than they could have turned out to be,” he said.
Furthermore, Rakgare said the country’s sport system had for the longest time been anchored in genuine passion and selflessness of many of those in it.
