UNITED FOR BWSPORTS CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED......

Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC) in partnership with Botswana National Olympic Committe (BNOC) partnered with Tsa Gae Investment, a local company better known as “All Kasi” to produce a masterpiece T-shirt which will be used as a fundraiser for Team Botswana for Tokyo 2020 and other initiatives.  The Jersey was revealed today, 18th March 2021 at an event which was graced by the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development (MYSC), Honorable Tumiso Rakgare and other dignitaries from sport and the private sector. The Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) who manage the #PushaBw campaign attended the event and emphasised their support towards the campaign. The t-shirts will be distributed and sold by JB countrywide.

The funds generated from the sales of the t-shirts will be used by Team Botswana for preparations, and the Olympic competitions. Beyond Tokyo 2020, the funds will assist other National Sport Associations as and when the need arises.  The t-shirt will be promoted by His Excellency Dr. Mokgweetsi E. K. Masisi and the First Lady, as well as Honorable Tumiso M. Rakgare, Minister of MYSC, by encouraging the nation to wear the campaign jerseys on Fridays, with the theme “Blue Fridays”.

United for BWSports is a campaign which aims to get the whole nation to rally behind team BW as they prepare for Tokyo 2020 Olymics which will be held from 23rd July to 8th August 2021. Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Mr Mokaedi Maplanka, the Managing Director of All Kasi said that the thought behind the campaign was to bring the nation together through sport during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. He said that sport is one of the sectors mostly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic hence they conceptualised a campaign where they would revive the love of sport through bringing leaders, corporates, supporters and sponsors, together to support the initiative  through “Blue Fridays’.

The jerseys can be acquired at selected JB stores across the country for only P399.95. Corporates Companies can place their orders directly with All Kasi.

The BNSC and BNOC would like to thank BITC, Avani Gaborone Resort and Casino, Nashua, ViB Mobile and Media House 1957 for the successful event. Le ka moso betsho.
