International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifiers, Botswana, September 10, 2021

Three (3)) Fixtures were played at the BCA Ovals, in Gaborone on September 10th, as per the revised Schedule.

In the morning, Zimbabwe narrowly edged past a resilient Tanzania team who had them on their back foot for the first half of their innings and their bowling came to the rescue to secure them the first victory in their opening encounter.

In the afternoon, Mozambique sprung somewhat of a surprise against Botswana when they took 6 scalps before the hosts posted a respectable total of 151 runs on the board, with some fireworks display with the bat by Amantle Mokgotlhe. Defending the total, Botswana bowled Mozambique out for 41 with Shameelah Mosweu taking 6 wickets for 3 runs in her 4 overs, retaining the top spot on the Table in Group A at the end of Day 2. Namibia defeated Nigeria in the other encounter that sees them remain at the top of the Table in Group B.

THERE WILL BE NO SPECTATORS PERMITTED AT THE GROUNDS AT ANY TIME (as per national protocol) and the games will be streamed live in lieu of the contract between IMG and ICC; https://welcome.icc.tv/

The BCA sincerely thanks the Government of Botswana, BNSC, ICC, all participating teams, stakeholders, well-wishers, officials and the Media for their continued support, commitment and hard work in promoting Cricket and endorsing our efforts in “Bringing Cricket to the Nation”.
