International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifiers, Botswana, September 15, 2021

As the Round Robin stage draws to an end, the road becomes clearer as to the 2 teams likely to qualify in Group B, with sufficient number of wins and points to take them to the knock-out stages; this being Namibia and Uganda.

The remaining Fixture in this Group is between Cameroon and Sierra Leone, to be played this afternoon.

Group A has also steadied the murkiness with respect to the teams likely to proceed to the knock-out stages, to an extent, however, with some exciting cricket, explosive performances and an element of luck, the last games between Zimbabwe & Rwanda and hosts Botswana & Tanzania could still upset the “apple cart”. The permutations and combinations to determine the number two (2) spot could be between Tanzania and Rwanda with a slim outside chance for Botswana to pip ahead, depending on the results of these matches and the margins of wins and/or losses.

This excitement is scheduled for Thursday 16th………..

THERE WILL BE NO SPECTATORS PERMITTED AT THE GROUNDS AT ANY TIME (as per national protocol) and the games will be streamed live in lieu of the contract between IMG and ICC; https://welcome.icc.tv/

The BCA sincerely thanks the Government of Botswana, BNSC, ICC, all participating teams, stakeholders, well-wishers, officials and the Media for their continued support, commitment and hard work in promoting Cricket and endorsing our efforts in “Bringing Cricket to the Nation”.
